SEJARAH
The Study Program of Sports Science, FPOK, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) was established on April 19, 1999 by Decree of the Higher Education No. 155/DIKTI/Kep/1999. The Sports Science Study Program is a response to the requirement to change from an institute (IKIP) to a university, which requires the existence of non-educational study programs in at least 6 faculties. The Sports Science Study Program was founded and pioneered based on the thoughts of sports experts through scientific forums and meetings. The founders of the UPI FPOK Sport Science Study Program include Prof. Dr. Rusli Lutan and Prof. Dr. Adang Suherman, MA. who is the head of the first study program. Sports Science is the name of the appropriate study program based on the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 257/M/KPT/2017 concerning Names of Study Programs in Higher Education.
The first Accreditation Rank achieved by the Sports Science Study Program was "B" with a score of 333 number SK 018/BAN-PT/Ak-X/S1/XI/2006, on November 2, 2006. Furthermore, the Sport Science Study Program, FPOK UPI, applied for re-accreditation to the next five years and obtained an “A” rank with a score of 369 with the number SK 020/BAN-PT/Ak-XV/S1/VII/2012, dated July 12, 2012. Decree Number 4207/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/XI/2017.
The programs implemented by the sports science study program are programs in the fields of education, research, community service, student affairs, human resource development and quality assurance in order to support the achievement of the UPI PTN BH performance agreement with the Ministry of Education every year.
The flagship program of the sports science study program is the inbound and outbound student exchange program with the University of Malaya and the University Kebangsaan Malaysia. In addition to student exchanges, the sports science study program collaborates with foreign countries in the form of research collaborations with the University of Wollonggong, Australia.
The Sports Science Study Program is managed by 21 Lecturers consisting of 17 certified PNS lecturers, 4 Professors, 8 Doctors, 5 Masters and 4 non-permanent lecturers.
The sports science study program has an association initiated by the heads of the sports science study program throughout Indonesia. Every year, the association holds regular meetings to discuss the current and future developments of the Sports Science study program. One of the activities that have been discussed in the past year (2018) is the uniformity of the curriculum for the Sports Science study program throughout Indonesia.
The Sport Science study program also establishes partnerships with various government and private institutions, both domestically and abroad. The distribution of students in various government and private institutions in the implementation of PPL is a tangible manifestation of the cooperation that has been implemented. Meanwhile, in cooperation activities with foreign countries that have been and are currently being carried out are student exchanges and internship programs.

- Produce sports graduates who have competence as sports analysts who can work in government or private agencies in charge of sports.
- Produce sports graduates who have competence as sports research assistants who can work in government or private agencies in charge of sports.
- Produce sports graduates who have competence as fitness consultants who can work in fitness centers.
- Produce sports graduates who have competence as Non-Medical Health Experts in the Sports Sector who can work in sports health centers, rehabilitation centers and sports health service centers.
- Produce sports graduates who have the competence as coaches of sports activities who can manage the implementation of recreational sports activities, achievement sports and educational sports.
